DJ Smith, undercover investigator for HM Revenue &Customs, is sent to Tenerife to infiltrate a money-laundering organisation run by Ambrose Vanheusen. She is in deadly danger from such a ruthless criminal, but he has an Achilles heel: his obsession with his Persian cat, Samarkand Black Prince, who. like his owner, is nothing more or less than a beautifully groomed thug. DJ's passport into Vanheusen's empire comes in the form of Gorgonzola, her moth-eaten ginger Persian and sniffer cat extraordinaire, acting under the pedigree alias of Persepolis Desert Sandstorm.
With drug dealing, money-laundering and murder to contend with, not to mention a cat with attitude, it's not surprising DJ doesn't realise that the greatest danger lies in Vanheusen's plans to get his hands on supposedly pedigree Gorgonzola as a mate for his brute of a cat.
